Olive Valley

Maalot Tarshiha, Israel

Program: Urban Planning of a  Residential Neighborhood with 1,500 residential units.
Client: Maalot Tarshiha Municipality
Area: 875 Dunam
Status: Ongoing

The Olive Valley neighborhoods boundaries are: To the north the national road 89, to the east by the Yefe Nof neighborhood, to the south by the Oranim neighborhood and to the west by Tarshiha. The neighborhood is located on both sides of a wide valley spread from north to south. Along its length, a road connecting Route 89 to the southern and adjacent neighborhoods is planned.

Approximately 1,500 housing units are planned in the neighborhood, covering an area of 875 dunams, while maintaining the integration of the topography in the design.

In correspondence to the city’s vision, a commercial complex has been planned at the northern entrance to the neighborhood adjacent to Highway 89, and a residential complex with a commercial level that offers lively urban life is planned at the southern entrance. The site includes construction of terraced buildings, which integrates with the environment and allows housing units with gardens and / or adjacent garden balconies.

This approach is in line with the general trend in Ma’alot Tarshiha – to strengthen the socioeconomic stratum of the population and to enable a variety of residential models suited to the needs of the population.
